Shannon Eckstein


Born and bred on the Gold Shannon is widely regarded as Australia’s greatest ever Ironman and his list of achievements reinforce that statement. Combining a passion for the ocean with countless hours of training and determination, he won his first World Ironman title at the age of 18 and has since claimed four more titles. He has also won the Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman Series a record breaking 8 times as well as 6 Australian Ironman titles and more than 30 Australian gold medals.

Shannon’s remarkable competitive achievements stand alongside his selfless contribution to the community through his commitment to both the patrolling of the Gold Coast beaches through the voluntary surf lifesaving program and education and training of the next generation of lifesavers.
